Most parents assume revision needs to be stressful, long, and exhausting. It doesn’t. Short, focused sessions create far better results.
Here’s the optimal 20–30 minute routine.
1. Start With a Warm-up (3 minutes)
Quick questions like:
Times tables
FDP
Short algebra
Mental maths
This switches the brain into “maths mode.”
2. Focus on ONE Topic (15–20 minutes)
Never mix topics in the same session.
Steps:
Read an example.
Practise 5–10 questions.
Check answers.
Redo mistakes.
Single-topic focus builds mastery.
3. Finish With 1–2 Mixed Questions (5 minutes)
These prepare the brain to apply skills across the paper. They also mirror real exam conditions.
4. Track Each Session
Write down:
Topic studied
Score
What went well
What to revise again
This builds self-awareness and reduces repeated mistakes.
